waiting for chickenpox

My 3 year old has chickenpox, on Sunday 21st Nov she had 5 spots in her face (around the ears). On Monday the doctor told us that it is insect bites, no more spots appeared until Wednesday 24th Nov when she had a fever and spots appeared all over her body. Dr said that because she was vaccinated most of her spots looks like insect bites. Was my 3 year old contagious from 2 days before the first 5 spots appeared? or only 3 days later when the rest appeared. I am now concerned about my 1 year old and when we can expect her to start showing signs of chickenpox? How long should my 1 year old be kept away from other children to make sure that she does not transfer this to other children?

Your 3 year old daughter was contagious from about 2 days before her chiken pox rash appeared until the last of her scabs fell off and the pox sores healed. The time period is usually about 10 days from the start of the actual illness.Your 1 year old can be in the company of other children from the time that her older sisters pox scabs have disappeared.

I think chicken pox is contagious until the spots have crusted over completely and there are no fresh ones appearing.
