Voluntary vomiting?

My daughter of 11 months has been putting up a HUGE fight the past 3 nights when it' s time to go to sleep. On each occasion she started throwing up. It' s quite a lot (almost looks like projectile vomiting)- it even comes out her nose!
She has a bit of a cold and at first I thought it could be from the phlegm on her chest but I was wondering if kids could throw up at will? My son did breath holding spells so anything' s possible!
She REALLY goes ballistic when we try to get her to sleep so I' m not sure if she' s throwing up because of getting SO upset?
Or should I take her to see the Paed?

Your daughter's vomiting is indeed as a result of the tantrum that she has when you try to get her to go to sleep. It may be that her cold has caused her nose to be blocked and she cannot fall asleep easily. Use saline nose drops to clear her nose. If she persists with this behaviour you will have to be quite firm with her otherwise she will persist with this. Once you are sure that her nose is clear put her in her cot and leave the room. Only return if she starts to cry but let her cry for at least 3 minutes. Settle her down and leave the room and if she cries again leave her for another minute longer and so on. if she vomits just clean her up and leave the room immediately.
