Q.

Vidol Teething Powders - how long

Dear Paed

My 12 month old son is having a tough time teething, and thus sleeping very poorly. Vidol teething powders work well, as it numbs the gums, and also kills pain systemically as well. My question is - how long (how many nights) can I give him Vidol? Second question, can I give him Stopayne (less than half a teaspoon?) when its really bad (ie when he has both hands in his mouth and distressed)?

Thanx for you excellent help!

You can use the Vidol powders as recommended on the package. This is a safe treatment.Do not use Stopayne which contains codeine and may cause constipation. Only use Panado or Calpol syrups.
