Vermox SD given to 2.5 year old

Hi doctor,

We were given Vermox SD syrup by our pharmacist for our 2.5 year old, who has been screatching his backside a lot (we suspected worms).

We administered the dose to him already, but I have noticed via Google that you do not recommend its use in 2 year olds.

Should we take him to the paediatrician? Is there a risk of toxicity? Is there a risk of mental/physical impairment? What side-effects should we look for?

Vermox SD can be given to children over 2 years of age so there is no concern with using this form of Vermox for your son.

I will add that when we tried to wake him up from his afternoon nap, he was very difficult to rouse (although fine afterwards), and he is constipated with a slight fever.

Could these be because of the Vermox SD?
