Q.

UNDERWEIGHT

Hi doc

My son is 8 yrs old. and he weights 21kg. He hardly eats, only in the morning his cereal. And if we have lunch or supper he is never hungry. What can I give him to boost his appetite.

Your son is indeed underweight. His weight is on the 10th percentile line of the children's weight chart. This means that his weight is in the lowest 10% group for boys of his age.Try giving him an appetite stimulant such as Longifene Syrup-ask your pharmacist for this. If it does not help it would be a good idea to have him checked up by a doctor as it is unusual for a boy of this age not to eat well.
