The average weight for a 9 month baby girl is 8.3kg. Your baby's weight is well below the average and falls on the so-called 2nd percentile line of the infant growth chart. This means that her weight is in the lowest 2% for all babies of her age. Normally when a baby is eating and feeding well and is strong I would not be concerned about her weight being below average. The problem is that your baby's weight is really well below the average. Please ask your doctor or clinic nurse to see her just to be sure that she is well and that there really is no need for concern.
