Q.

UNDERWEIGHT

Hi - my baby was born on the 23/12/2008 - I had taken her to the paed on the 05/01/2009 and he had advised that she has not put on any weight - nor is she putting on weight - what could cause this - the paed advises I should breast feed - but I need to go back to work soon - I' m very concerned please help

It is quite normal for babies to lose weight initially for up to the first 10 days and then to regain their birthweight. From then on babies then will gain weight regularly.I do agree that your baby should be breastfed. You are entitled to maternity leave.
