Your daughter is 7 years old and up to now she has had a healthy appetite and no problems after eating. Recently she has begun to complain of tummy cramps after meals and also feeling nauseous. There are many causes for complaints like this in children of this age including psychological causes especially if she is unhappy at school or being bullied just as examples.Another cause is a condition called abdominal migraine especially if there is a history of migraine in your family.Urinary infections and worm infections are other possibilities. If you are sure that she does not have a possible psychological cause for this complaint it would be worthwhile try her on a migraine diet for at least 2 weeks. She should not eat any yellow cheese, cold meats, sausage, marmite, chocolate of any kind including cocoa and also no caffeine such as found in tea, coffee and cola drinks.make sure that she is not having MSG in any form such as in instant soups. If she does not improve after 14 days of this simple diet she should be seen by her paediatrician.
