Tummy ache after eating or drinking

My 3 year old girl complains that her stomach hurts every time after she drank her rooibos tea, and sometimes also after meals. I am worried about this. She also often complains that her legs hurt and that she is tired. Yet sometimes she seems to have and endless amount of energy. Are there blood tests we should consider or what would you recommend?

Your little daughter is very clear about her complaints, which is quite unusual at her age. The complaint about her legs hurting is probably due to so-called 'growing pains' now. You should give her something for pain such as Panado or Calpol syrup if she complains about painful legs. Her complaint of tiredness and tummy aches after eating is more difficult to be sure about without being able to examine her. She may be anaemic or may have some form of food intolerance or allergy eg many children who are allergic to egg complain about a tummy ache like this when they eat any food containing egg.It would be best to ask your paediatrician to see her.
