Too many stools?

Hi dr
My 10 month old daughter has had a lot of stools over the last couple of days - up to 4 some days. Sometimes it''s a small stool &  hard, other times it''s softer but bigger, there''s also the odd runny tummy in between. She otherwise appears healthy - she also eats/drinks well. I''ve started giving her Smecta to try &  settle her tummy as I do think that 4 is not normal?
I know drs always advise to cut out dairy and/or fruit for a couple of days. However it will be difficult to cut out diary since she refuses to drink any juice - she only has milk. Also, with fruit, she has 1 fruit purity during the day at daycare (I don''t really have any other lunch options to send to daycare for her at this stage as she''s not too fond of the veggie ones).
Kindly advise if there''s anything else I can try? I think she''s too small for Imodium (she doesn''t weigh 10 kgs yet).

You certainly do not need to give your baby Imodium as her stools are only more frequent than usual, sometimes soft but not watery as with diarrhoea. Your baby may have a mild form of gastro. The sugar in fruit and fruit juices can aggravete this condition so it would be best to stop this for at least 3 days. She can continue with her milk and her normal diet otherwise and should settle down by herself.

I forgot to add that I have also been giving her a probiobic for about a week now.
