Q.

tonsils and adenoids

Amy (3 and 1/2 years old) had her tonsils and adenoids removed 18/07. She still complains (and cry) about a sore throat. The past 3 nights she wakes up crying and have complains more about her throat being sore.... is this normal? I still have to give her pain meds just to ease the pain

This is normal.Use saline nose drops [such as Salex] twice day to help to reduce any swelling resulting from the operation to remove her adenoids.Give her Panado syrup if she complains about any pain. She would prefer to eat soft foods now especially jelly and ice cream which is an old favouruite after having your tonsils out.
