Q.

Tonsils

Hi Doc,

My daughter is 3 and a half years old. About 3 weeks ago she got tonsilities for the first time. She was put on an anti biotic and it all cleared up fine, However yesterday when I fetched her from school she started with a temprature and her tonsils are swollen again. I have made an appointment with an ENT this morning, But i would just like your advise. Do you think I should get these removed like everyone is telling me too, or stick it out a bit longer?

Your daughter has only ever had two tonsil infections. Normally children who have their tonsils removed have 5 or more tonsil infections per year. There does not appear to be a good reason for your daughter to have her tonsils removed at this stage.
