Tonsils

What sickneses can a child develop if they still have their tonsils?
My daughter still have her tonsils. They say it could be some kind of auto immune disease. Been struggeling for the past 3 years and we dont get answers. Could tonsils be so toxcic?

Yes, tonsils can become chronically infected especially by bacteria called Streptococcus or 'Strep'. This may result is several possible chronic illnesses in children including a kidney disease called Nephritis. Also a heart disease called Rheumatic Fever. Sometimes children develop a disease of their joints called Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Your daughter must be seen by a paediatrician.You should get a second opinion if your daughter's illness has still not been diagnosed after 3 years.
