toilet training

my 3 year old boy is not showing any interest in going to the toilet! we have tried letting him pick out his own " big boy Pants"  , using bribes such as toys, sweets etc.he goes to school and there he sees the other kids use the loo. last week he asked if he could wear his underwear without any prompting from me-he did ok and he managed a poo in toilet too! but this week, he wont hear about it! its like it never happend! please advise

This is very common. Try not to make his toilet training a big issue. Praise all success and do not say too much about any set-backs.Your son seems to be doing quite well. Try a star chart system. Every time he uses the toilet he gets a gold star on a chart and when there are 3 stars in a row then he will get a small prize. Then extend the number of stars to 4 then 5 , then 6 and so on.
