Q.

Toddlers tooth developing on pallet

Good day doctor, my 17 month old son has a tooth that seems to be developing on the side wall of his pallet, there is only a sharp point sticking out at this point and doesn’ t seem to bother him but what can be done about this. Your advise is greatly appreciated.

Thank you. Your toddler's tooth is certainly coming out in an unusual place. It may not come through completely in this position. Is it an extra tooth? The dentist may want to wait until your son is 6 years or older before trying to remove this tooth. It would still be a good idea to consult your dentist at this stage to gfind out what needs to be done.
