Toddler with Gastro still vomiting

Hi Doc
My son (1 year old) started vomiting on Wednesday and the doctor said it was Gastro. I received medication and rehidration fluids for him. I had to take him off all milk products which is very hard for him because he loves his milk. (Nido).
He didn' t eat very well since Wednesday but drinks lots of tea and diluted juice. I also discovered that the fruit purity stays down. And also sweet potato. He is not sleeping because he doesn' t want anything but milk for a sleeping bottle. I have to rock him to sleep every night untill he passes out from crying. When can I start giving him milk again so he can start feeling better. He is back at the daycare today and he doesn' t look sick but still get tired very easily.

In your 'Subject line' you mention that your child is still vomiting but do not mention this again. Is your son still vomiting? If he is he must be seen by his doctor again. You should not give him fruit juice as this will aggravate his diarrhoea. He can eat Purity apple or pear.He can re-start milk now. He only needed to stay off milk for 24 hours at the start of his illness.

Thank you doc. Sorry, I forgot to mention that he only vomits every time we give him his milk or yogurt. His tummy is back to normal but when we give him his milk or yogurt he brings it up after a while. We didn' t change his milk or yogurt brand and he has been using it for months now so it can not be the products that we use. I' ll try giving him milk again tonight and if he does vomit again I will definitly take him back to his doctor.
