My 20 month old son has a fixed routine of a bath at 7pm and then to bed at 7:30pm, but lately it is a allnight battle. He adamantly refuses to go to bed having tantrums that leaves him heaving and looks like - near vomiting. When we do eventually get him to bed he will always wake up at about 1am in the morning and try and come to our bed. We then take him back to his bed, check all is ok and go back to ours. Lo and behold within 30 mins he is back inour room. What to do?

This is the time to be firm or else your son's behaviour will simply continue and he will make a regular habit of coming to your bed. The only thing to do is to take him back to bed each time, tuck him in and leave his room.If he starts to cry and perform you will need to apply the 'controlled crying' method. This is very hard on the nerves but will be successful if you persist. For information look this up on Google.
