Q.

Toddler - redness under eyes

My toddler is turning 3 in May. She has instead of dark rings under her eyes, red ones. The redness goes lighter and deeper red but does not dissappear anymore. Is this related to sleep, nutrition or someting else? Should we take her to a paediatrician or what should we do? She does not always sleep well, however even the nights that she sleeps, the red remains.

This is not unusual. This can occur in some families. Most often no cause is found for this appearance, but redness on the lower eyelids can be a sign of allergy or anaemia or a blocked nose.If your little girl is happy and lively and appears to be well then there is no need to take her to a doctor.
