Q.

Toddler growth rate

Hi there. I took my toddler to the clinic for injections and she is concerned that my 24 mth little boy, height 93cm and weight 17kg, is putting on weight too quickly. In the past 3 mths he has put on 2kg. He is a very picky eater - yoghurt 4 bfast, crackers for lunch and plain chicken for dinner. He only has sweets, chips on the rare occassion and does not have junk food. Could there be an underlying problem ? He is not fat just big boned. pleasde help...

You are correct, your 2 year old son is not actually overweight. He is an extremely big boy and his height and weight are in balance. You will have to shop for him at the 'Big 'n Tall' shops.
