Q.

TODDLER FEAR OF POTTY TRAINING

I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME. MY SON IS 28 MONTHS OLD AND WE STARTED POTTY TRAINING HIM 2 MONTHS AGO. ALL SEEMS TO GO WELL BUT HE HAS SUDDENLY STOPPED URINATING DURING THE DAY. IT IS AS IF HE HOLDS IT IN THE ENTIRE DAY AND WHEN WE PUT HIS NAPPY ON FOR NIGHT TIME HE URINATES SO MUCH THAT THE NAPPY IS FULL WITHIN AN HOUR. HE IS IN A VERY GOOD CRECHE DURING THE DAY AND WE TOLD THAT HE WAS MAKING GOOD PROGRESS. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THEY ALSO FEEL HE IS NOT READY AND WE SHOUD WAIT ANOTHER 2 MONTHS BEFORE CONTINUING. WILL IT BE WISE TO STOP AND START AGAIN. HE DOESNT CRY IF YOU TAKE HIM TO THE LOO, BUT SIMPLY DOES NOT URINATE.

This is very common especially wiyh little boys. It would be good idea to give your son a break from potty training as he does not seem to be ready at this stage. After a break of about a month start trying to potty train him again. Praise him every time he produces any positive results.
