Toddler Diarrheoa

Hi there,

My 25 month old daughter has had an extremely loose tummy for the last week, its not watery - but extremely " mushy" . She can have anything between 2 and 4 full nappies a day. She is otherwise perfectly healthty and showing no other signs of being unwell, no fever, she is eating well, playing as usualy - and has not complained at all of pain.
I did change her formula a while ago as I could not find Nespray in our local supermarket (changed to NIDO), but have subsequently changed her back incase this was the cause.
She is busy cutting her bottom two canines - and Ive heard this might also cause diarrheoa, but have been told that this is an old wives tale...
Im giving her a banana every day now, as this has helped in the past and also letting her drink Energade to make suer she doesnt dehydrate.
Should I take her to our GP - or wait it out?

The most common cause of this kind of diarrhoea is too much fruit and especially fruit juice in the diet. Stop all fruit juices and also the Energade drink and see if this problem settles down. Once it has settled give your little girl only apple as a fruit for at least two weeks. No fruit juices for a very long time.
