To boil or not boil water

I''ve just started with 1yrs old on Nido and on the tin it says to use boiling water or previously boiled water. Sometimes in the morning its such a rush to make the bottle and wait for it to cool still, before giving it to him, as i like to give him a bottle myself in the morning before i leave for work. Is it ok for me to use tap water, or is it a NO-NO.

You do not need to boil the water and tap water will be fine.

I also got the Parmalat milk for the same reason, but it is DARNED expensive at R15 per liter, especially when the kiddo drinks 700 ml per day, plus some more in his porridge. Comes to about a liter a day!

After a year I did use tap water when I had to give formula. To avoid the whole issue though, I gave first growth milk which is cows milk with various nutrients added. (formula is also cows milk with nutrients added, but its in a dehydrated form).
