Thrush in 18 month old son

Hi, My son is 18mths now. He has got thrush for the 4th time now. Two weeks ago he had it on his groin area, and the previous two times it was oral thrush. I am concerned that he is getting this so often. He is at creche during the week. I have noticed this comes particularly when he is teething. Is it normal for a child to experience this so many times? The first time was when he was 5mths old. Please help me help my child. Many thanks.

This is not normal and he is getting a bit 'old' to be getting thrush now. He should be seen by a doctor and his immunity needs to be tested.

Thank you. I did take my son to his paedeatrician, and after examining said my son is teething quite ' aggressively' . This is one of the reasons his immune system is down, and he didnt seem too concerned about the thrush, altho he was happy with the meds i started with, and prescribed only ointment. Thanks again
