Hi doc
My son is three months old and got thrush in the beginning of Jan which the paediatrician diagnosed when we did our monthly check up & , due to the thrush he had also lost a little bit of his voice is that normal? the doc prescribed daktrin which helped as he started to take his milk again and his voice recovered however it seems to be coming back (the thrush) as he wont take his feeds properly and ' plays'  with the teat(the past two days) i wash his bottles and teats with sunlight soap aswell as salt and then i boil them and soak then in the sterilon solution. could his milk(novalac) be giving him the recuring thrush or what am i doing wrong and how can i prevent this? He constantly had a thick white film on his tongue before we took him to the paed and once we put the daktrin on, it went away, but now he has a white film (not as bad) after his milk. is it thrush again? Generally he has a good weight and is a smiley baby but has his off day now and again where he will just cry and cant sleep.Your advice would be appreciated.

It would be unusual for thrush to start up again in a healthy baby as your little baby boy seems to be. You are sterilising the teats very well. The present white coating you describe seems to be due to milk curds which is very common. This is certainly nothing to worry about. The difference is that this coating disappears soon after each feed but with thrush the coating on the tongue remains.
