throat Infection

Dear Prof

Thank you very much for all the advices you have given me in the past. On the 5th Sept I took my 3yrs old son to the paed. He was having running nose with yellow mucuos, cough and mild fever - the running nose and cough started the week before with the fever developing on the 4th. the paed diagnosed throat infection. He prescribed zithromax 3 days and calpol. He got better and all was well. last week Friday (14 Sept) he started with a cough without running nose this time. lastnight he had a fever of 39.7 which came down this morning to 38.5. I noticed that he throat is a bit reddish. what can this be? I am worried that this means another course of antibiotics. What can I treat him with? He is asthmatic and on foxair &  venteze pumps. he also takes Allecet every evening.

Many thanks and regards

You are welcome. It does seem that your son has another throat infection, which quite commonly happens in young children. It would be best to take him back to the doctor as he has a very high fever.
