The effects anti depression tables will have on a fetus

I am currenlty using lexamil 20mg and my husband and I have now decided to have a child. Will I have to wean myself off these tablets first? what impact will using these tables, whilst pregnant, have on a baby?

Although Lexamil is considered safe for the first 6 months of pregnancy, it is not considered safe during the last 3 months of pregnancy and while breastfeeding. In my opinion it would be best not to take the Lexamil while you are pregnant, but you need to discuss this with your gynae when the time comes.

Discuss with your gynae. I was on Cipralex throughout pregnancy and now while I''m breastfeeding. My dosage was increased in last month of preg and first month after baby was born and then back to normal again. Lexamil is the generic of Cipralex I think.
My meds were decided on by discussion and both doctors were kept updated at all times.

Sertraline (Zoloft) is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding - please ask you gynae about it. Don''t stop you ADs before you have discussed this thoroughly with your psychiatrist and gynae! pregnancy is no time to play around with depression. Untreated derpression is worse for the fetus than these antidepressants.
