TERRIBLY fussy 15 week old baby

I just dont know whats going on with my baby! She was an absolute she is very trying and exhausting! She has just become generally fussy and irratated lately...she has reflux , is on Zantac but this does not seem to bother her much. She is a very small eater...drinks only about 90ml of Novalac every 3 hours...she fights at the bottle often too! She weighs about 5.1 kg.

She woke up last night...screamed like crazY!!!Gave her Panado...thought it was maybe her ears?? Then she passed out...this morning she refuses to let me put her down...doesnt want to feed well...screams!! Passes out in my arms...put her down...sleeps for about 20 min then whole cycle starts again....i swear she is teething!!! Keep checking her mouth..I asume she is too young for teething??

Whats going on??? How do I know if its her ears or something else?? But if she was in pain would she not be screaming all day long???

The point is that your baby was 'an absolute angel' until recently, so this is something new that is worrying her now. Many babies do start teething at around 4 months so this is a strong possibility. Another strong possibility and her symptoms suggest that this is indeed the main suspect now is reflux. She is refluxing and the Zantac is probably not helping enough. She should be put on Losec or similar acid reducer and probably given Motilium as well to try to stop her actual reflux. So she should see her paediatrician again.

If its ears she would start crying every time you lay her down or if her head went down quite low while you were carrying her.

Breastfed babies often get quite fussy at around this age as they are going through a growth spurt so they need to feed more often, but from what you are describing she is drinking less of the bottle rather than more so thats probably not it.

Perhaps she is getting sick?
Also, babies sometimes just have off days, just like adults do, so sometimes they do this for a few days and then just revert to their usual selves again.

she mgith be teething but its probably not likely at this age. Babies only find teething painful as the tooth cuts through the gums, which is a period of two or three days for each tooth not months and months. The average age for a first tooth is around 7 months, though some babies get teeth at around 5 months and some only at aroun 16 months.
My mother insisted my son was teething from when he was two months old, his first tooth only arrived when he was 11 months old. He was already walking by then and was even speaking about 3 words clearly enough and in context for strangers to understand them.
