Hello Dr
Please help me. My 16 month old has a temp of between 35.6 and 36 when I take his temp with a digital ear thermometer when he is well. Do I then need to consider a temp of over 37 as high. My baby has a temp of between 37.2 and 38 since yesterday. He responds to medication but after a few hours I need to give him another dose. Last night I could not get an accurate reading as he was very restless. He felt very hot though and his hands and feet in particular were extremely hot and his heart beat also seemed very fast. I stripped him down and gave him medication and he settled but was restless all night. This morning his temp was back up but the medication seems to have helped. He won' t let me take his temp so I don' t know what to do. He feels warmer than usual but I don' t have an accurate reading.
Is this a bad fever? He has no other symptoms and is drinking and eating as usual.
Thank you.
