Teething VS Runny Tummy

My eight month year old is now teething. I felt one tooth coming out this morning. The past 4 days he had been having running tummy (greenish loose poo) and is actually causing him nappy rush which I am treating with fissan paste. He doesnt want to eat, refuse even his milk bottle. My friend told me that its because of teething-is this true?
Please can you suggest what get to stop this runny tummy or it will disapear on itsown.?do i have to worry?

Your baby's runny tummy is not due to teething, but more likely is due to a viral gastro infection.Do not give him any fruit except apple and no fruit juice at all while he has loose stools. Give him frequent sips of Rehidrat solution. You will find the mixing instructions on the label. This will prevent him losing too much fluid and body salts. He should be better after one or two days.If his diarrhoea worsens or if he starts to vomit he should be seen by a doctor.
