Teething at 4 months

Hi Pead, I was wondering if my son could be teething at this age, he always seem to press everything hard into his mouth, he is drooling quite a lot and is just generally unsettled. My main concern is that he is now not finishing his bottles and sometimes even after 4 hours he might not want one, he seems irritable with the teat and doesn' t want to latch even with his dummy. This has been happening for 2 or 3 days now, I' m worried about his milk intake. Will this pass?

Your baby son has indeed started teething, but his first teeth will take another 8 weeks or so to appear. He should settle down and be able to suck on his bottle again very soon. His first teeeth will appear in the middle of his lower gums, so this is the place to apply a little Pansoral gel if he is really uncomfortable.
