Q.

Teething &  running tummy

Dear Doc

My 6 1/2 month daughter has had a running tummy for almost 2 weeks. Last week, I took her to the Pediatrician who prescribed Reteuri drops. There has been a slight improvement, but she is still giving us 4 - 5 dirty nappies a day.

Yesterday I noticed her first tooth appearing - just cutting through the gum. She has not been miserable at all, apart from her running tummy.

Could her running tummy be attributed to her teething? How long is this likely to continue for? Do you think that I need to take her back to the Pediatrician?

Thank you.

Paediatrician

Your baby's diarrhoea is not due to teeething. She should have settled down by now and it would be best to see your paediatrician again.
