Q.

TEETHING

My son is 18mths old &  has only 8 teeth, but his gums, top &  bottom, is black. what color should it be? Is this normal.

The gums are normally pink to pinkish red in colour. The gums can have a dark grey colour in young children when teeth are about to come through in that area. This is due to some bruising of the gums caused by the erupting tooth or teeth.Dentists call this an 'eruption hematoma' This can be considered to be 'normal' and it is not necessary to be concerned about this appearance
