Q.

TEETHING

Dear Doc

My 11mnths old boy is teething. When he started a week ago he was just twisting mouth and rubbing his ears. I would rub his gums with VIdol powder. This morning he woke up and cried at 4am, which is unusual. I also noticed that he has slight fever and gave him Stilpain syrup. When he woke up this morning at 9am I noticed that he also has a runny nose and gave Salex drops. What must I do?

Teething will not cause your baby to have a fever. Your baby appears to have a cold and he probably also has an ear infection. Please ask your doctor to see him.You do realise that Stilpane contains codeine which besides causing constipation may also cause dependency.
