Q.

Teething

Hi Doctor,

The Pharmacist said that children either have diarrhoea or mucous in their nose whilst teething. My child has a very blocked nose which is now making him cough. She recommended Allecet, 1.25ml once a day. My baby is 8 months old.

What do you think about this?

Teething does not cause a baby to have a blocked nose.Your baby may have a cold. Do not use Allecet which is an antihistamine and is usually given for nasal allergy.Just use infant saline nose drops twice a day or Salex nose drops twice daily.
