Teeth grinding is known as 'bruxism' and is a fairly common habit in young children. It is not certain while children develop this habit but in some cases children are found to be a bit stressed. In most cases it seems that it is the presence of their first molar teeth that set them off on this habit. It is a difficult habit to stop but you can try Aterax syrup 5ml at night for your older daughter. Aterax is an antihistamine that seems to help some children with bruxism. Most times the habit continues until the permanent teeth appear at age 7 or so.
