This is a very common habit. The cause is not always easy to find but sometimes results from having a persistently blocked nose. It is difficult to treat but may respond to using an old fashioned very safe antihistamine called Aterax. Your son will need to take 5ml of the Aterax syrup at night. This habit usually persists until the time when the permanent teeth start appearing.
