Q.

Teeth

Hi, my son is almost 10 months, his top middel teeth has just come out, but it seems a little bit brown or almost as if there is a thin light brown cover over it some parts of the two teeths are white. The bottom middle two are fine and white. Is it because the teeth still needs to come out in full or can it be something else. Thank you

it is quite common for babies to have some mottling of the teeth as you describe with your baby son. This is more common in children born in areas where there is a high level of natural flouride in the water, such as in parts of the Northern Cape.Teeth can also be stained by iron supplements and drinking rooibos tea.Brush his teeth regularly with a baby toothpaste and toothbrush. Fortunately your son's permanent teeth will not have this staining or mottling.
