Tarah 27 months (vomiting)

Tarah is my grandchild ,,she is 27 months and has severe vomiting attacks... Tarah was in hospita 2 weeks ago for “ gastro“  for 5 days.!! Now my worry is,,,she has been this way for a while now,,maybe 1 year... Tarah weighs 9kg,s... Of which I think a baby her age should be weighing btwn 12 and 13kg,s.... I took her to doc again Thursday 13 October for a 2nd opinion becos we feel there is definately something wrong with Tarah... She again just vomited in my bed now,,3.15am.... My fam doc said after he gave her a jab to stop the vomiting, that if it persists,,maybe she will have to have a scope done... Doc,this sounds serious,,,plse can u advise.. Thanking u in God,s name... Mrs Haley Jimmie.

The average weight for a little girl of 27 months is 12kg, so your granddaughter's weight of 9kg means that she is seriously underweight for her age.It is difficult to be sure about the cause of her vomiting without being able to see her, but she may have severe stomach to oesophagus reflux, known as gastro-oesophageal reflux. There are several other causes of vomiting in this age group that need to be excluded as well. I am concerned about your little granddaughter. She really needs to be seen by a paediatrician as soon as this can be arranged.
