Q.

symptoms of meningitis in infants

Hi Doc, because of the outbreaks or cases of meningitis we hear about in the news, i get worried because i dont really know what to look out for. I have a 6 months old baby, and haven' t taken him for Prevenar yet, what are the common symptoms or signs to look out for for this desease? What should one check on our infants?should i be worried because i didn' t do the vaccination?
Thank you Doc

You should take your bay for this immunisation. The symptoms of meningitis in infants are fever, irritability, vomiting, refusing feeds and sometimes a fit.
