swollen taste buds

my 5year old sun have swollen taste buds. It is the second time in 4 months that this is happening. And when he eat or drink any fruit, fruitv juices or salty foods, he complains that it is burning his tongue. His tongue feels rouge.

This is probably due to a common condition called geographical tongue. It is an inherited condition. There is no infection of the tongue and no treatment is needed.The changes on the tongue seem to disappear after several years. Do not give him acid fruits such as citrus fruit and pinepples to eat.
