Q.

Swollen glands

Hi Doc,
My son is 6 years old and has been sick 4 times since the beginning of Jan. He gets a high fever, swollen glands (on his neck and groin area) and is so lethargic. He had his tonsils and adenoids removed 2 years ago and also had 2 ops on his groin area (the first when he was 2 for an undescended testicle and the 2nd when he was 4, he developed a hernia on the other side due to the 1st op).
He is also on deselex daily for his allergex.
I need a good specialist paediatrician he Can go too as he is missing school and just started Grade 1 this year.

Many thanks

Paediatrician

Your son almost certainly has glandular fever. There are other illnesses that may cause the symptoms he has, but glandular fever is the most likely. He should be seen by a paediatrician.Find out where there is a paediatrician in your area.
