Q.

Swollen gland in nose

Good Day Doc,

My 2 and half year old son has what looks like a swollen gland in his nose. He has been having a bit of a runny nose for the past 2 days, he does not struggle to breathe though, Should I have this looked at by a doctor or am should i not worry about it?

Thanks so much.

This is probably normal. One can often see this in a baby's nose. The swelling you can see is what is known as a nasal turbinate which is a normal part of the inside of the nostrils.Your baby's nose is not blocked and that is most important. If you would like to clear his runny nose it is best to use infant saline nose drops.
