Sunglasses for 9 month old

Dear Dr.

My baby is now 9 months old and has very blue eyes. When we take her outside I can see the light is too bright for her. Can I buy sunglasses for her from an optometrist? I''ve been advised that Fisher Price has suitable sunglasses. Is it ok for her to wear sunglasses at this young age?
Many thanks

There are sunglasses available for babies who are sensitive to sunlight. You really need to see an expert before deciding on the kind of sunglasses to suit your baby.

Babybanz are fantastic sunglasses for children. They have proper lenses that stop UVA and AVB light from hitting the sensitive eyes. They also have a band for around the head so they are comfortable and don''t fall off. They are available from optometrists. They are quite expensive but really good quality and last for years.
