Q.

Summer baby

Hi Doc,
I am expecting my 2nd baby on the 5th of December, when it is normally very hot. This may sound silly, but I am wondering how warm does a newborn need to be kept at this time and for how long?
With my first being born in August, he''s 4 now, it was easy, since it was still chilly here in Joburg.
I''m just not sure how to dress baby in those first days/ weeks.
Many thanks - R

You certainly do not need to overdress your new baby if it is hot. A light vest and a light babygrow will be sufficient at first.
