Sudden blinking

Good evening!

Just a quick question... My son of 6 blinks continiously. What can I do to make him stop. He is aware of his blinking, seeing as when we speak to him about it, he stops for a while, but it all starts again. The blinking gets worse when he speaks to his father (who has moved out since we are busy with a divorce). The blinking has started before that however, it just worstenes when he speaks to his dad.
Any advise or medication you can give me?

Thank you very much!

Blinking is a common habit in young children and is known as a 'tic'. It probably started off due to the stressful situation at the time and like all habits in children became worse the more that anyone remarked about it.It would be best to ask a child psychologist to see your son as he may start to be teased at school if he continues to blink in this way.

My 4yr old also started blinking out of the blue. It was strange as we could not think of any reason for it. He eventually stopped doing it on his own. It took a few months tho''. Goodluck.
