Q.

stopayne

Do you know why the advisory age for stopayne has changed to 2 years? It used to be about 6 months and my pead recommended it for teething in my first child. Now with my second I am not sure what to use instead when he has a blocked nose, cough and fever (and molar' s on their way!). He is 15 months.

Thanks for all your help

Stopayne contains codeine which besides causing constipation can also cause dependecy. It is no longer recommended for children under 2 years of age.Panado or Calpol are regarded as safe treatments for pain in this age group.
