Q.

Stools bleak

My daughter is 5 years old. Her stools are bleak and have been that way since I can remember. I was wondering if this is normal. She is also always full of blue marks on her legs, she is very busy and some what of a tom boy but I have noticed the the marks are almost always round in shape.

Paediatrician

I am not sure if you mean that your daughter's stools are pale or black in colour. If they are very pale, almost white in colour this may mean that there is no bile in her stools. This should be investigated by a paediatrician. Many active children often have bruises on the lower parts of their legs for a time, but it sounds as if your daughter's bruises are more extensive than usual. This is another reason for her to see her paediatrician and a full blood test is needed.
