Q.

Stool

My baby is 7 months old. He started solids about 1.5 months ago. For the past 2 weeks his stool has been like " clay"  and not soft like it was before. It is causing a severe rash in his bum and it is actually raw. I think probably because he has a poo at night and then it just sits in his nappy like a plug/ Is this normal? What can I do to make it softer? I gave him Purity prunes on saturday and have been trying to get him to drink some water. I also put a little bit of olive oil in his food.

You are treating your baby's constipation correctly. Apply a good nappy cream such as Bepanthen to heal his rash. You may have to change the cereals he is eating and give him more fruit and vegetables in his diet to increase roughage.
