Q.

Stomach cramps caused by red meat?

Hi
My 4yr old son has experienced severe tummy cramps on 2 occasions now. So bad that they woke him from his sleep. On one occasion the cramps were accompanied with vomiting, but no loose stools or anything else.
Both time he had some red meat for supper. Could this be the cause of the cramping?

This is unlikely. More likely at his age is that he has picked up a parasite infection called Giardia. This is easily treated using a medicine called Flagyl. Please consult your paediatrician.
