Q.

Stomach cramps

My son is having stomach cramps, nausea and headaches since yesterday. He does not have a runny stomach nor does he throw up. He does not have a fever either. He is 13. I gave him anti-nausea meds and meds for the cramps. What can it be?

There are many possible causes for your son's symptoms. What is important is that he does not have a fever nor does he have diarrhoea. Gastro-enteritis can probably be ruled out as a possible cause. His symptoms may be due to stress, over-exercising especially in warm conditions, possible appendicitis or may be an early sign of glandular fever. You will have to wait to see how things develop and if his symptoms persist until Friday it would be best to ask your GP to see him.
